Dr. Behzad Abasht holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Tabriz, where he achieved a perfect GPA of 4.00. His doctoral research focused on the impact of KPF6 and KBF4 additives on the morphology and optical properties of CsPbBr3 perovskite, under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Shahab Khanmeh Asl, Assoc. Prof. Hossein Aghajani, and advisor Prof. Asghar Asgari. He also holds a Master of Science in Materials Science and Engineering with a specialization in Ceramics from the Iran University of Science and Technology, with a GPA of 3.48, where he researched the magnetic properties of Ca-Hexaferrite. Dr. Abasht earned his Bachelor of Science in the same field from Bu-Ali Sina University, with a GPA of 3.44, focusing on the mechanical properties of Cordierite.
Dr. Behzad Abasht is the Head of the Mechanisms Group’s Lab at the University of Tabriz. He leads key projects in perovskite thin films and shape memory alloys, and plays a significant role as a supervisor for these research endeavors. Additionally, Dr. Abasht co-advises a Ph.D. student on the synthesis of Al2O3/MoS2 nanocomposites and an M.Sc. student on the synthesis of PTFE/Ni nanocomposites.

Dr. Behzad Abasht has been recognized with numerous awards for his research excellence. In 2019, he was named the Outstanding Researcher of the Year and ranked in the top 4% in the Nationwide University of Iran Entrance Exam for Ph.D. admissions. His work as a senior researcher led to his projects being awarded as the best project of the year in both 2017 and 2016. In 2014, he received the Best Paper award at the First National Conference of Space Mechanisms. His academic achievements began with ranking in the top 1% in the Nationwide University of Iran Entrance Exam for his B.Sc. in 2004.
